The A+B HIDES plants are located in Geldern-Kapellen in Lower Rhine, Wegberg in Rhineland and Eisenhüttenstadt in East-Brandenburg. Together they are responsible for the skilful handling of the natural product ‘bovine hide’.
Our raw material is prepared with great care, in preparation for the later production of high-quality leather goods. Our plants handle this natural products with decades of experience and dedication.
We are particularly proud of our longstanding and global relationships with customers and suppliers, some of which have been with us for over 40 years. The plants in Geldern-Kapellen and Wegberg have a rich history and 70 years of experience to call upon, having been founded in the early 1950s.
We are particularly proud of our self-developed laser process with which we engrave the ear-tag code of the animal into the hide. Through the ear-tag code, all of the animal’s data, similar to a passport, can be viewed in a database. We thereby guarantee full traceability of the leather back to the individual animal.
We are also certified by the Leather Working Group, an international non-profit organisation that provides globally uniform certification for leather manufacturers.
We are a member of the German Hide and Leather Association (WHL) and the International Council of Hides, Skins and Leather Traders Association (ICHSLTA) and serve both organisations with our Chief Executive Officer as president.
