What your job includes
- Set up and steering of divers Product Development (PD) projects within the facilities in Western Germany and the Netherlands. Develop new products and / or to improve and adapt existing products according to strategic plans
- Leads product development projects or participates in bigger projects, acts as knowledge base and sparring partner in special projects
- Develops new and continuously reviews existing products that these meet agreed OSI and customer standards
- Ensures a proper documentation on product specifications in databases
- Coordinates the creation of high quality hand samples
- Coordinates and supports the compliant introduction and set up of new products into production in cooperation with production team;
- Plans, organizes and executes line tests
- Initiates process optimization projects
- Develops and ensures the implementation of European guidelines and policies to meet standards in product development activities, this includes standards in documentation, product specification production support, support during audits in the facilities for PD section
- Ensures sufficient data for internal / external product specifications is collected and shared with interfaces e.g. for packaging information, recipes and product specifications
- Develops product strategies and innovative products in alignment with other stakeholders as Sales, etc. or by deriving results of market research activities, benchmarking, etc.
- Leads, participates and supports in workshops and roadshows (internally and with customers, suppliers) or conferences
What we expect from you
- Degree in food technology or comparable
- Several years of professional experience in production & process of meat and meat products
- Experience in product development, processing and production of convenience products as well as consumer insight
- Good understanding of production processes
- Developing of new and modification of existing products
- Work fluently in English and German
- Knowledge of HACCP, IFS or FSCC22000
- Willingness for business trips - mainly to OSI Foods facilities in Europe ~ appr. 10% of travelling activities depending on projects
